Overview

Complete diesel injector testing using OEM specs. Get accurate flow data, diagnose issues, and avoid unnecessary replacements.

Product information

Note: Pricing is per injector. Please select the quantity that matches the number of injectors you are sending in for testing.

At Motorsport Diesel, we offer complete injector testing using OEM test specs to accurately assess injector condition.

We begin with an armature lift measurement. If that passes, we proceed to a baseline flow test. Injectors that fail at this stage are not tested further. But if they pass, we continue with comprehensive diagnostics, including pressure testing up to 220 MPa (2200 bar).

Injectors are often replaced due to balance rate issues, even when the real problem is a low-quality replacement part. Our testing process can uncover this – and in many cases, we can recalibrate injectors back to factory spec, saving you the cost of unnecessary replacements.

We regularly test injectors for local shops working on tree service and telecom trucks, especially Duramax-powered rigs showing white smoke at idle or balance rate issues. Many of these injectors are fully restorable, and we’ve returned full sets to like-new performance.

Here’s the truth: injector sellers don’t want you to know this. Still, a disclaimer – if there’s excessive wear in the ball seat or the control valve and rod, calibration isn’t possible. Only injectors that pass the initial baseline test are eligible for recalibration.

What’s Next?

Here’s what you can expect when you send your injectors in for testing.

Included with testing:

  • Armature lift measurement
  • Baseline flow test
  • Full diagnostic testing (if injector passes baseline)
  • Pressure testing up to 220 MPa (2200 bar)
  • A detailed flow data sheet for each injector, emailed directly to you

If issues are found:

  • Injectors that fail baseline testing are not tested further. We’ll let you know they’re not suitable for recalibration
  • If recalibration is possible, we’ll offer that as an optional service at an additional charge
  • If internal wear is too severe (e.g., ball seat or control valve and rod damage), we’ll provide a clear failure report and suggest next steps

You stay in control the whole time. No surprise work, no pressure. Just real data, straight answers.
